Shake Shack has gained a cult-like following over the years thanks to its all-natural Angus meat burgers and famous cheese fries. And many (including me) argue it’s the best damn burger joint in the U.S.

But despite being the reigning king of fast food burgers, the company is always on the lookout to try new things.

That’s why in recent years, the chain has introduced many non-beef items into its menu. Apparently they like the chicken, a lot.

Some of their latest offerings include crispy chicken sandwiches, hot chicken sandwiches, and the ChickenShack fried sandwich, which launched back in 2015. They also experimented with lobster topped burgers for a while, but that didn’t work out.

Now they’re back to dishing out chicken recipes, again! And no one’s getting mad about it, because everybody loves the chicken as much as we do.

Although I like their fresh-ground beef burgers covered in Shack Sauce more than anything else in the world, I’m always open to new things.

Especially if these new things involve THE chicken.

If you love bite sized pieces of chicken, and you also love Shake Shack, there is plenty to be thankful for today.

On Monday, the company announced that they will start testing a new chicken nuggets recipe in select locations at NYC.

If everything goes well, they’ll start to roll them out to other cities in October.

Shake Shack’s new bite-sized pieces of fried chicken are called Chick ‘n Bites. They’re made with fresh, never frozen, all-natural, antibiotic free whole muscle chicken.

Shake Shack chef Mark Rosati said they’ve been working on Chick ‘n Bites for about a year.

He also said that a lot of thought and prep work has gone into making this new item. In fact, his team tested more than eight versions of the Chick ‘n Bites before coming up with the final solution.

To make the nuggets, Shake Shack uses a french cooking technique called Sous Vide that makes them juicier and more tender. The chicken is then battered and fried until its golden and crispy.

You can order a six-piece box of nuggets for $4.39, or you can ask for a ten-piece box of chicken nuggets for just $6.39. If you want to make your Chick ‘n Bites even tastier, you can smother them in honey mustard, BBQ sauce, ketchup, or our all-time favorite ShackSauce.

Chicken ‘n Bites launched on Tuesday, September 18, 2018 at the West Village Shake Shack and Innovation Kitchen in New York.

If you want to try them out for yourself, and you happen to live in New York City, head out to one of these locations. Or, wait until they’re added to your local Shake Shack’s menu.
